"We came in from VA on April 5 we drove through the night and we arrived at 8:00am in the morning. We stopped by the hotel and the front desk staff were very friendly and told us they would make sure our room was cleaned as soon as the cleaning staff arrived. They issued us our parking passes and allowed us use of the pool until our rooms were available. The gentleman on staff came out to the pool and let us know our room was available for check in...which was wonderful and very considerate due to the fact we were exhausted from the drive (well at least the adults in the group were...lol!). The room we stayed in was on the North Side of the building it was clean and spacious and had a great view of the ocean and the front desk staff were wonderful anything we needed they made sure we had. The hotel is under new management and you can tell they are doing everything they can to turn it around! The bar on site make great Pina Colada's and yummy food and the prices are really good! I would stay here again and recommend this hotel to any of my friends the price can't be beat, the location is great, and I can honestly say the hotel staff is truly wonderful!!!! Kudos to the NEW Castaways Beach Resort."

"We had an amazing time. The Owners are very accommodating and welcoming. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. The staff friendly and helpful. It is an all around wonderful vacation spot with breath taking views! I am trying to find the time to go back in August with the kids. The 6th floor suite is perfect for the family. I highly reccomend staying here you will not regret it."

"have stayed @ this hotel 5 times in the past. This was the 1st time since New owners took over. Ralph is ok, but he doesn't seem to keep the staff informed of reservations he makes for the guests.Changing rooms around that were booked several months in advance..putting handicapped people as far as possible from elevators, .. His wife needs a 'Disney' course in GUEST RELATIONS. She is nothing short of Medusa. There are several families that WERE returning guests, and won't be back because of her.-- I am a Native Floridian in the Hospitality Industry for 30+ years and I KNOW people either make or break your business... It might be they are too busy trying to self off rooms as 'condos' instead of treating people with RESPECT and decency. The actual WORKING PEOPLE of the hotel rock and is why you all are probably still in business. Front desk was awesome when Medusa was not there (you can feel the tension when she is) housekeeping kind, maintanence nice as well. Their Amenities list is a LIE- 5.00 a day for wi/fi spotty at best, 4 games in game room..workout room? yea ok if you say so. drunks in hallways trying to acost other guests, garbage and urine smell on the steps that lead to the beach. I live less then an hour from Daytona and am now looking for a new hotel to stay in, when we go. Sad this was once a very nice place for working families on a budget. Now it is quite scary. I even had to fear for my teens in this place with it's clientele. :( 90% of security cameras are NOT even hooked up. 5 people in my room a problem, altho we are a FAMILY.. but the 25+ on the second floor wasn't a problem... or the guy chasing WOMEN around on the 5th floor stumbling drunk WASN'T a problem???--Usually I don't need to fear for my 30yr olld daughter on vacation... Peace out-- Glad Daytona/ormand offers alot of choices... rather pay more then deal with that woman again who has NO PLACE in the hospitality industry--"

"My husband and I stayed here the first week of August 2010 and had a great time. The rooms are very clean and management was wonderful. We got there early in the morning and they had a room available and let us check in early. Don't usually see that at most Hotels. My husband is disable and they gave us the best room to suit his accomodation. Wonderful place."
